These are productions that capture pivotal moments where the mystique of one of the most important theaters in the world intersected with the debut or consecration of exceptional artists.

1. It encompasses the Rule by Maria Callas (1949) or the Isolda by Kirsten Flagstad under the baton of Erich Kleiber (1948), alongside figures of the stature of Carlo Bergonzi, Giuseppe Di Stefano and Renata Tebaldi. However, the performance of September 11, 1965 holds a very special significance: that night, a young Catalan soprano named Montserrat Caballé stepped onto the stage of the Teatro Colón for the first time. embodying Liù in Turandot.

Montserrat Caballe - Turandot Liú September 1965 - Photo: Teatro Colón Archive

In ""Signore, ascolta!"", Puccini conceived a most subtle orchestral filigree, where muted strings, harp, and woodwinds weave an impressionistic and fragile atmosphere to accompany the slave's plea.
